What’s your WHY?

As part of my 30 books challenge this year, one of the books that I am reading is “Start With Why” by Simon Sinek.

Sinek in his book shares that great organisation, brands and leaders alike always have a clarity in their vision as to why they do the things they do. Apple for instance showcase themselves as a company that challenges status quo and not some technology company. This is why everything they do, they challenge the mainstream business models. Because of this clarity, they are able to draw the success they have today.

His idea of living purposefully by asking your self the question that begins with why can also extend to one’s life. Although I have not finished reading the book but it has made me acutely aware of my purposeless living until now.

I had been constantly stressing myself about how much I earn, my carreer, my savings, my learnings and bla bla. I will not falter to say that I had also been comparing myself with my peers wondering if they were earning more or were better off than me.

I think these are all irrelevant. When what you do is not driven by your why, you are simply drifting through the passage of time and filling up your so called life.

I have yet to find my why and I am quite excited and definitely experencing a little flutter of anxiety for this self-discovery process. I think its wonderful to wake up every morning knowing your why and breathing your why into life.

I am writing this in the middle of the night cause I had to share how this amazing life-changing book has helped me to realise the importance of asking WHY. Have you found your why?
