Hola everyone! Hope you have a fantastic start in APAC and a good rest of the day for people from other time zones. I have resumed my course and I am happy to share my today’s learning.

I am currently viewing the Marketing Analytics case study under the course where we are required to compute certain metrics that will be included in a newsletter to be sent to individual customers. These metrics are completely personalised and involves various level of aggregation. Before we had our hands-on practice, we used the reverse engineering strategy to first envision the kind of table that is required and what is required for each of the metrics. Then we utilised the “split, aggregate and join” strategy to compute each of the metrics in various tables and joined these in the end.

Joining tables need special consideration to understand what will/will not be left behind as we join them using the keys.
